These things should be done within the first month of starting any part of induction
in a school using Lambeth as Appropriate Body
You (collectively, with your school) will need to fully complete and return a registration form to Lambeth by the end of the first week of teaching in Lambeth.
If we do not receive a completed form by then, your induction will commence from the day after we receive the form, and not from when you started at the school.
You should encourage your Headteacher, Induction Tutor or
Co-Ordinator to book you a place on the NQT induction training that is offered by Lambeth.
Not only will this be a chance for you to get advice and information about things relating to your induction and teaching in general, but it will give you the opportunity to meet with fellow NQTs and share experiences and concerns with them.
Being observed is part and parcel of induction, and by the end of your fourth week, you are expected to have been observed, after which you should evaluate your own practice and discuss it with your Tutor in a formal feedback session.
Out of this feedback comes not only reflection, but action points which are practical and helpful, and will further drive your progress against the Standards.
